Dealing with individuals and families with disability and their special needs.

Rebecca Treadway is the Executive Director of The Arc of Northwest Mississippi, an organization that provides advanced training, education, and recruitment of personnel in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities, serves as a parent support and advocacy organization, and works to further research on all aspects of intellectual and developmental disabilities.  In addition, the organization works to enhance public understanding of intellectual and developmental disabilities and to collaborate with all public, private, and religious agencies, including international, federal, state, and local departments of mental health, rehabilitation, as well as educational and health institutions.

 During her presentation, she will discuss the importance of advocacy and support for special needs individuals and their families, drawing from her personal experience as a special needs parent.   As insurance and financial professionals, we may work with a person or a family who is impacted by an intellectual or developmental disability. This meeting will give us an inside look at what families and individuals with disabilities have to deal with on a daily basis. This will help us to be better prepared to serve our clients and their families. Plus, we will know what other resources are available for our clients and their families.

Join your fellow NAIFA-Memphis/West TN members and the rest of the Memphis pickleball community for the 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament, benefitting Camp Good Grief. The tournament will be on September 27^th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Come on out to the Windyke Country Club for a day of friends, fun, and a great event, including lunch, refreshments, snacks, a commemorative tournament T-shirt, and a day full of excitement. Prizes will be awarded and there will also be a silent auction. We can't wait to see you there!

This year, we will be playing mens and ladies doubles, so grab your partner and come out for this great event.  If you do not have a partner, we will pair you up with someone the day of the tournament.

Skill Level: Do you know your skill level?  If you do not have a DUPR rating, please CLICK HERE, answer a few simple questions, and use the rating provided during your registration.

Team rating will be an average of the players on the team.

Brian served as NAIFA Memphis / West TN President in 1998 – 1999 where he was presented the Jack E. Bobo 5 Star Award for Chapter Excellence. Four years later Brian served NAIFA Tennessee as State President in 2002 – 2003 and currently serves both NAIFA Memphis / West Tennessee and NAIFA Tennessee as Treasurer.
