Community Service

Our association appreciates the community where we make our living, and we are proud to give back by participating in many community events each year, such as those mentioned below:

BIKES FOR KIDS - Every year since 2008, we have collected NAIFA Memphis/West TN member donations to go toward buying Christmas bikes for needy kids as part of the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. As of 2023, we have raised over $69,000 in member donations which has bought over 1,000 bikes for kids that otherwise would never have gotten them. The donations were made to the Salvation Army during live broadcasts of the Mike Fleming Radio Program in 2008, and the Ben Ferguson Radio Program in 2009, and the last few years the donations were made during live WREG TV News broadcasts.  Congratulations and thanks to all contributor/members for participating in this worthy community cause.  “There’s something special about Bikes and Kids at Christmas!”

GOLF/ PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT - Over the years, proceeds from our member golf tourney have been shared with a worthy charity. In recent years, Camp Good Grief, a wing of the Baptist Health Foundation, has been the beneficiary of such donations. Camp Good Grief provides free counseling to kids who have lost a loved one. Over the years, we have been able to contribute tens of thousands of dollars to this worthy cause.

POLICE OFFICER OF THE MONTH - For over 30 years, our association proudly recognized outstanding law enforcement officers at monthly luncheons, where each honoree—nominated by a liaison officer—was presented with a commemorative plaque. While these luncheons are no longer being held, we remain committed to honoring the dedication and service of our first responders and continue to deeply appreciate the vital work they do for our community.
